Kydex is a thermoplastic material that does not absorb moisture, does not deform under heat, and does not wear the weapon's finish over time. Unlike leather, it holds its mouth shape after thousands of draws, always presenting the same grip angle. Retention is passive: the pistol locks in on insertion with no additional steps, and draws along a single upward linear path. This mechanism delivers consistent draw speed, but it also means the holster is optimised for that specific pistol-and-light combination — mounting the X300 on a different rail or using a light with different dimensions will compromise retention.

Adjustable rubber spacers let you fine-tune retention pressure on both sides — frame and light body — to compensate for wear over time or to match personal preference. This adjustability is a genuine advantage over fixed-retention holsters, but it does require a few minutes of initial setup to find the right balance between security and draw speed.
