The FMA EXFIL Headset and Helmet Rail Adapter Set GEN2 is a mounting kit designed to attach MSA-compatible tactical headsets directly to the side rail of EXFIL-series helmets, removing the rigid metal headband that normally wraps around the head and compromises fit when worn with protective gear or technical headwear.

The most significant practical advantage is the elimination of the traditional metal headband: once the adapter is clipped to the helmet rail, the headset rests solely on the ear cups, leaving the helmet shell unobstructed and improving the helmet's overall fit. Adjustment is handled by two knurled thumb screws that require no tools, so the position can be fine-tuned even while wearing gloves, while still maintaining a stable connection during movement.

The system supports an open position and a closed position: in the open position the headset pivots away from the ear plane so the helmet can be removed and replaced in seconds; in the closed position it returns over the ear cups ready for use. This is a trade-off worth considering carefully: donning and doffing is noticeably faster than with fixed-screw solutions, but it requires that the headset be compatible with the specific EXFIL rail — this is not a universal adapter for any helmet. Cabling can be routed either inside or outside the helmet shell depending on the operational setup. Declared compatible with SORDIN systems and with many replicas of the same format.
