FMA

Active-retention holster for full-size 1911 pistols, designed to mount on a belt via the CQC system with paddle plate. The integrated SERPA technology locks the trigger inside the trigger guard the moment the pistol is holstered, preventing accidental draws without requiring additional levers or thumb releases.

The release mechanism is activated by the index finger travelling naturally along the holster body during the normal draw stroke — it is not an extra step, but the same pressure the finger applies instinctively as the hand moves to the grip. This reduces reaction time compared to conventional thumb-release systems and simplifies re-holstering, since the pistol locks automatically in a single motion.

The trade-off to consider is that SERPA retention acts mechanically on the trigger guard: the holster is very secure against unintentional draws, but it requires the finger to be in the correct position right from the start of the movement. With regular training this becomes automatic; without it, there is a risk of being slower than with a passive-retention holster. This is a holster built for those who train the draw consistently, not for occasional use.

Key points

  • The SERPA lock on the trigger guard prevents accidental extraction even under a grab or in close-quarters struggle.
  • The release occurs along the natural draw path, with no additional thumb movement.
  • Re-holstering is one-handed: the pistol snaps into retention without pressing any catch.
  • The CQC paddle plate system allows mounting on standard belts without tools.
  • Specific compatibility with full-size 1911 pistols.
