Helikon-Tex Competition Triple Carbine Insert Magazine Pouch — Shadow Grey

The Competition Triple Carbine Insert is a magazine panel designed exclusively for the dedicated pouch on the Helikon-Tex Competition MultiGun Rig. It holds three standard rifle magazines, compatible with AR-15 and AK-47 platforms, and fits into the rig without adding external bulk.

The pouches feature partially stiffened walls: this construction detail allows a magazine to be reinserted one-handed without looking down at the pouch — a real advantage during competition stages where every second lost on a reload counts toward the final time. The elastic cord positioned at the centre of each pouch retains the magazine during abrupt movements and transitions, preventing accidental drops even when running or going to the ground.

Elastic retention is the right choice for dynamic shooting because it combines fast reloading with enough hold to keep up with competition tempo. Those who need higher retention in operational environments where the risk of prolonged falls is greater will find this system less suitable than solutions with a positive snap retention: this is a deliberate trade-off, not a flaw. The Cordura® 500D fabric provides abrasion and tear resistance while keeping weight low, consistent with the philosophy of a competition insert.
