The CHICOM is a low-profile, lightweight chest rig inspired by the original 1940s design, reinterpreted by Helikon-Tex in Cordura for sport shooters, hunters and operators looking for a fast carry system without the weight and bulk of a plate carrier. The triple centre pouch accepts AR15/M4 and AK magazines in standard configuration and is removable to adapt the setup to the task at hand.

The CHICOM's strength lies in its balance between simplicity and modularity. The central platform features MOLLE/PALS surfaces on the sides and shoulder straps, allowing radio, medical or utility pouches to be added without disrupting the rig's slim profile. The rear panel includes a zippered section for attaching a dangler pouch or belly pouch, extending carry capacity downward without overloading the straps. The triple pouch is secured by an open-top closure with elastic retention: access is fast and reloading is immediate, but it offers less retention security than a snap system — an acceptable trade-off in contexts where speed of access matters more than protection against accidental drops.

The central panel opens to reveal an internal flat pocket suitable for documents, maps or flat items that do not need to be quickly accessible. Cordura construction provides abrasion and tear resistance while keeping weight low, a decisive factor when the chest rig is worn for hours over demanding terrain.
